Alan Stones
Alan Stones began making lithographs after winning an award in 1985 for the Gulbenkian Foundation to experiment in printmaking. A decade later after a three month residency in the vast open space of the Falkland Islands, his prints became much more minimal. Since then he has published a great many editions from his printmaking studio in the Eden Valley in the heart of Cumbria. Alan graduated in Fine Art from St. Martin's School of Art, London in 1971. He has exhibited widely, both throughout Britain and Europe, and his work can be seen in many UK public collections.
