Holly Cawte
After moving from Ireland to the UK, Holly moved to London aged 21 to begin her artistic career. Having been inspired by the Old Masters and their classical techniques she set out in finding tuition to study these seemingly long forgotten methods. After a great deal of searching, she came upon Lavender Hill Studios, the UK's first Classical Atelier dedicated to teaching and training future generations of Classsical Artists.
After successful first year of study she gained the Lavender Hill Studios Next Generation Scholarship. With this Scholarship, it enabled her to continue her studies and an invitation to teach classical techniques began in her second year. Now part of the team at Lavender Hill, she teaches draughtsmanship in charcoal and oil painting through Portraiture, Figure and Still Life.
With the Completion of her third year in London, she was awarded the De Laszlo Scholarship, set up through the De Laszlo Archive Trust, in honour of the Hungarian painter Philip De Laszlo 1869-1937. Holly has had her work featured in Artist and Illustrators Magazine. Holly's latest achievement has been winning the Leighton House Museum prize.
